Works with Sansay and TCA to Implement Advanced Solution

June 18, 2008 – TeleSpan Communications has selected Transaction Network Services to provide a customized Local Number Portability (LNP) solution for its network. TeleSpan Communications, founded in 1998, is a wholesale telecommunications service provider for business enterprise customers, wireless and wireline carriers.

The organization will use TNS’ Local Number Portability (LNP) via Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) solution to identify accurate routing of calls, to create routing efficiencies, and ultimately resulting in enhanced service delivery to TeleSpan customers with reduced operating costs for TeleSpan. TNS worked closely with TeleSpan and its switch vendor to develop a custom messaging code that enabled the optimized routing of traffic through the TeleSpan network.

“Our thrust is with wireless carriers. LNP was causing a disproportionately higher level of rate discrepancies than landline carrier traffic. Our search for a solution was to find an experienced provider to work quickly and competitively with our Sansay VSX session controller. TNS worked closely with Sansay and TCA to complete the task. I am thrilled with the results and we have the confidence to scale our domestic product as being LNP compliant”, says Dominic Bohnett, President of TeleSpan Carrier Access.
